p.s. I still love it.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is a 2018 American teen romantic comedy film directed by Susan Johnson and written by Sofia Alvarez. The film stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Anna Cathcart, Madeleine Arthur, Emilija Baranac, Israel Broussard and John Corbett.

The plot of this movie is about a shy young high school girl named Lara Jean Covey (played by Lana Condor), who writes these love letters to all her crushes. She basically writes them to release her inner thoughts about the boys she’s “loved before.” One night while Lara Jean was sleeping on the couch with her sister ‘Kitty'(played by Anna Cathcart), she snuck up into Lara’s room and found these letters. She assumed Lara was gonna send these out considering they did have mailing addresses on them. So as a “good” sister she is, she sends them out without Lara knowing.

The next day when Lara was at school, she realizes her letters are out. All the boys she wrote letters about came and confronted her. But the one that was so eye-catching to her, was lacrosse player, Peter Kavinsky. After Lara kisses Peter to throw off Josh(her sister’s boyfriend who also was her crush), Peter proposes that he and Lara Jean fake a date to make his ex-girlfriend(Lara Jean’s ex-best friend and nemesis) Gen jealous. Lara Jean agrees and throughout the whole movie everyone, including family believed that they were dating. At the end of the movie, it is revealed that they do have actual true feeling for each other and our now together.

So, what was my thought on this movie? what can I say, it’s been three years since this movie released and I still adore it. It’s cliché to say the least, but if you very much love corny romance/comedy with a hint of drama, than this movie is very much for you! I relate to Lara Jean in so many ways. She’s a shy quiet girl but is determine to do anything she puts her mind to. Lara and myself have such big hearts that we would do anything to please a person/the people we love. Even though it might end us up in sticky situations. But we always have the endings we always wanted, to be with the people who make us the happiest ever. We attract people who make us feel good and the ones we can be ourself around. Lara herself is a writer, and so is me. To have a character you can relate to is something that just fills your heart with so much joy. Because by watching the movie you’re just like, “Yes, finally someone who gets me and understands me.” That’s how I felt about Ms. Lara Jean.

The movie itself has a strong, flawed protagonist who reminds us of some important life lessons as she is learning them at the same time. Much of the movie’s success is down to Condor’s gentle appeal and her quiet chemistry with co-star Noah Centineo. The chemistry between these two actors are just so warm. They compliment each other greatly and you feel like they are dating in real life. Noah Centineo did a fabulous job portraying Peter Kavinsky. The teen heart-throb is sweeping people from their feet till this day.

Characters: Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky sharing a sentimental moment together during the movie.

Again, if you are looking for something that is warm and loving, I definitely recommend watching this movie. The movie also has 2 other ones called, ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved before, p.s. I still love you'(2020), and ‘To All the Boys: Always and Forever'(2021). You definitely must have to watch these movies in order to understand the plot and point of this whole movie! Hope you all enjoy as much as I did!
