The ‘Saturday Night Live veteran is still weighing whether or not to come back for a 10th season. Producer Lorne Michaels prayers for her return.

Cecily Strong is still deciding whether or not she’ll make a return for another season of ‘Saturday Night Live’. This comes to a concern after her season 46 Cold Open sparks rumors.

Strong spoke to The New York Times about if she has made her decision, the actress/comedian told the news outlet that “I’m still thinking.”

Strong made a comment saying, “Throughout the year, there were times where I felt like a fifth-year senior and I’m hanging around, dead weight. Then there was moments that felt so good,” She explained.

During the summer time(typically when fall is upon us), is when the cast either decides to stay or leave. Producer Lorne Michaels did in fact confirm that two cast members are in talks to leave the show for good.. Michaels isa praying for Strongs return saying, “My hope is she’ll come back,” he said. “What I said to her, and what I believe, is that I don’t think she’s done yet.”

During the season 46 finale, Strong was among a group of cast members, including Davidson, McKinnon and Bryant, that took the stage during the season finales cold opening. During the cold opening the cast explains the difficulties they had filming the show during the on going pandemic. But they also dod share some heart felt moments as the cast explains how good it was to see each other after a year and a half of not opening the set. Portion of the cold opening was focused on goodbyes- with Cecily Strong tearing up which is the reason why it spark rumors that she will be “hanging up her jersey”.

SNL writer Bryant Tucker told the Times that he wrote a special skit for Strong as a “Victory Lap” for the actress/comedian. Tucker says, “She’s such a special part of the show, and I wanted to write something for her that gave her a big send-off,” he said.

As of now, Strong is still weighing on her decision. We will definitely hear something in the upcoming weeks because the new season of SNL is right around the corner. What do you think? Will she make a final comeback or do you guys believe her journey here at SNL is coming to an end?
